You will attract who you are

Good morning Beautiful!  If you are a single woman who is both seeking Christ and desiring marriage, you will have to do is raise your standards.  Now, I’m not talking about making your “list” longer.  Today’s devotion is about examining yourself – because who you will attract who you are.

By observing both my own life and the lives of my friends, it’s easy to spend time in relationships that are not worthy of you. They are disrespectful, verbally abusive, emotionally abandoning, or other deal-breakers.  When you are attracting men who aren’t respecting you,  having you walking away from a conversation feeling enlightened, being CLEAR in the relationship by communicating to you where the relationship is going and their vision for your future together and just simply loving, it’s a sign that you need to raise your standards, to the point where you are willing to purposefully WAIT.

Purposeful waiting means:  you’re not having sex before marriage, you’re not giving “wife privileges to men who are just friends or boyfriends, you don’t hope a friendship will turn into a relationship when the man is clearly using you or not interested in you on that level, you are living your purpose, you are busily enjoying your life and you are actively invested in getting your own spiritual, mental and physical house in order.

Why is this important?  Well – ask yourself, do you want a man who tries to develop a deep emotional bond with every woman who is simply kind to him?  Do you want a husband who couldn’t exercise self-control sexually before you were married – which showcases the levels of self-control he will HAVE to develop after you are married?  Do you want a man whose finances, body, mind, spirit are neglected because he’s been running from relationship to relationship?  This is exactly what YOU are presenting to him when you choose not to wait and develop your own life and your own discipline – so you attract men who are NOT worthy of you…because you haven’t developed your own sense of self and your own worthiness.

The man that God has for you will ADD to your life…not DRAIN you.  This is a reality check, Beautiful…know that purposeful waiting is ALWAYS WORTH IT.

Foundational Scripture for Today:  “Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.” Psalms 27:12
