Trust His timing

Good morning Beautiful!
If you know that God has promised to bless you in His timing, you can be confident that He’s sending those blessings to you right on time. You never know who or what He’s saving you for, but often, we get distracted by the past or by the future and we miss the blessing that is happening right now, in the present.

Being distracted by the past

There’s no need going through this life allowing things from the past to occupy your mind. When you constantly focus on the past, every present moment slips by and also becomes the past. Then you’re left to wonder about what happened in that moment, and the next moment, and so on…and all of these moments slip by that you weren’t able to optimize because of where your focus was. As Christians, we are to forget the past things and press FORWARD.

Being distracted by the future

Alternatively, it’s also possible to sit and daydream about the future constantly. The Bible says that no one knows the day or hour of Jesus’ return except for the Father. Just as true is the fact that you don’t know significant things that the Father has planned for your future – so you just have to give it to Him. @bishopjakes once said that if he could go back in time and do anything different is that he would’ve stopped worrying.

Beautiful, where in your life do you focus too much on the past or on the future?

Stop…and realize that all you have is the present. You no longer can affect the past, and your future is in God’s hands, not yours. Do you see the beauty in your now? The comfort in the quietness of your morning devotions in His presence? The feeling of your child’s arms around your neck when he hugs you? Are you aware of the smile the stranger gave you as she passed by? Do you remember the complimentary words they said to you? All you have been given is opportunity for happiness NOW, while you trust God’s timing for what’s coming next.
