Surrounding yourself with love

Good morning Beautiful! The part of self-care that we’re going to talk about today actually occurs externally, instead of internally, and it deals with the people who you have surrounded yourself with. Who’s in your circle? Are you surrounding yourself with people who get where you’re trying to go?

Intentionally developing and fostering relationships with people who get you is wisdom. These are the type of people who love you, but tell you the truth. They celebrate your wins (for real) and there’s no shade. These people reflect the love of God in your life and they challenge you to be better. They ensure that their counsel is ultimately steeped in the Word and don’t just give you their opinion. You need people like this in your corner.
The Bible confirms this in Proverbs 27:19 when it shares “…as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” The best way to attract these kinds of people is to BE this kind of person. Like attracts like, so be this in the lives of others and you’ll see it overflow back into your own life.
Foundational Scripture for Today: “A friend loves at all times…” Proverbs 17:17
