Seek After God’s Heart

Good morning Beautiful!  While maintaining your walk including purity, it’s important for you to seek after God’s heart.  Purity is for your protection, not your punishment.  Most people think of purity as simply not having sex before marriage, however, purity also applies to pursuing clean words and thoughts in your relationship with your boyfriend, fiance or spouse, and also to marriage, in keeping your mind and heart focused on your spouse when it comes to intimacy.  Purity is pervasive, and we need it to be a focal point at every stage of life.

The primary way purity fails is when the person trying to incorporate it into their lives gets distracted.  Distraction can come from people, thoughts, the past, the things we feed our minds with, and even from music.  Depending on where you are in your pursuit of purity, you will have to focus on releasing more in one area versus another.  You may need to forgive an ex, so you can let the past go – or you may have to find some new Pandora stations to change the quality of the input you’re listening to.  The enemy wants to distract you as much as possible from purity, because when you commit to a pure life, there’s fewer ways he can tempt you to be disobedient to God’s Word.  And, the more you miss God’s obedience, the more you miss His blessings.

“All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God…” – Deuteronomy 28:2

Foundational Scripture for Today:But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33
