Own your decisions

Good morning Beautiful! We all have choices to make every day, but the difference between choices and decisions is that choice is the first step of a decision. A decision is much larger and encompassing. It involves not only the first step of a choice but understanding the consequences of that choice. You have to own your decisions. Whether these are positive or negative, you have to own them.

If you’ve been feeling like life is happening to you, it places you in the mindset of a victim. A victim is someone who feels they don’t have control over choice. However, the Bible doesn’t call us victims, the Bible says that we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37). You do – now and always – have the ability to overcome. You can stand,  push through, and fully own your decisions according to the Word, and when you do, it leads to the ultimate freedom.

There’s a difference in your own feeling of personal freedom when you own your decision.  For example, saying “I am choosing to be single until a fulfilling relationship comes along” instead of “I’m always going to be single”.  The truth is, there are a number of people who you could be in a relationship with. However, they wouldn’t represent a DECISION that you would want to live with. There’s a difference between saying “I never have money to go anywhere” and “I’m choosing not to spend money on extras because I am prioritizing my essentials.”  There’s power when you own your decision!

Walk in that power today. You’re not (and have never been) designed to be a victim of your choices. You’re a powerful master of your life’s direction!

Foundational Scripture for Today: “I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse; therefore, you shall choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants…” Deuteronomy 30:19
