Hearing God

Good morning Beautiful!  The best time to practice hearing God is early in the morning.  Why?  Because your mind is clear and you can focus.  In the Bible, David says his spirit “longed for God early in the morning.”  If you’re truthful about it, it’s pretty easy to allow other things to immediately occupy your time – however, where you place your time gives a huge indication about what’s most important to you.

It’s important not to have anything before God in importance in your life, because of His instruction.  God shares with us that we shouldn’t have other gods before Him.  This means no person, no desire, no motivation, not even you should be more important to you than God is to you.  When other things are more important, they become easy targets for the enemy to pull you down – but when God is the most important thing to you, there is nothing the enemy can do to target and pull down God.

To hear God requires that you stop, and listen.  Build a moment of pause into your morning – start with 10 or 15 minutes.  Sit on your floor or in a chair and have a notepad or device to type what you hear.  Ask God, “what is it you would like for me to know?” Then listen. You may feel led to listen to a song, you may receive instructions, or you may go to your Bible and turn to read a scripture you hear.  Either way, the more you practice hearing from God, the more clearly you’ll receive instruction.  You won’t have to go only to other people to know the right way – you’ll know, because you spend time with the most High.

Continue to reealign your priorities today, and ensure that God is still in the right place – first.  Then listen, and hear what He has to say.

Foundational Scripture for Today: At night my soul longs for You, Indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently; For when the earth experiences Your judgments, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.”  Isaiah 26:9
