Elevate God above your situation

Good morning Beautiful!  This  SHE post centers on the fact that we should elevate God above people’s opinions.  However, I’m here to tell you that we should also elevate God above our situations.  Focusing on how big that situation is, saying things like “That situation destroyed my life,” or “I gave so much in that situation, I’ll never recover” completely cancels out the power of God in your life.  If God created you, the entire world and so much more, doesn’t God also have the power to reign over that situation in your life.

Don’t let what you perceive as “the end” to be YOUR end.  You absolutely will not know everything that God has working behind the scenes on your behalf.  The Word of God says that our God delights in showing mercy over our situations.  The passage in Micah 7:18 is beautifully laid out in The Message:

“Where is the god who can compare with you— wiping the slate clean of guilt, turning a blind eye, a deaf ear, to the past sins of your purged and precious people? You don’t nurse your anger and don’t stay angry long, for mercy is your specialty. That’s what you love most. And compassion is on its way to us. You’ll stamp out our wrongdoing. You’ll sink our sins to the bottom of the ocean. You’ll stay true to your word to Father Jacob and continue the compassion you showed Grandfather Abraham— everything you promised our ancestors from a long time ago.”

Did you feel that?  “…compassion is on its way to us!” That means that whatever situation you’re thinking you’ll never make it out of, will never change, won’t get better, seems like it’s overwhelming, is trying to hold you down, makes you emotional – whatever the situation, God is GREATER.  He is BIGGER.  Release your faith and allow God to be bigger that that situation in your life today.
