Develop a vision for your relationship

Good morning Beautiful!  This week, we’re on the topic of courtship – why?  Because your relationships and how you handle them are of extreme importance to God.  As a good steward of all God has given you, you will honor God when you handle your relationships well.  For most of us – that means we need to have a plan.  As the saying goes, if you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!

Do you have a vision for your relationship and your courtship?  What does it look like?  How does it feel?  Remember, God created YOU in HIS image, and He is the ultimate manifestor…He IS our CREATOR.  You have the ability to use your creative power to create a vision for what you want to experience in your courtship, and it is of utmost importance that you write it down.

Guidelines for capturing your vision and creating your relational experience:

1.  Be intentional:  Most people don’t write down any goals – but if you want what most people don’t have, you have to do what most people aren’t going to do.  Don’t be afraid of defining your experience, God wants you to be an intentional creator, and even instructs us in the Word to write down our vision.  Set aside 30 minutes and use your journal or notes in your phone, and start writing out how your courtship will begin, what you intend to do to introduce the concept and maintain it, and how it will progress.

2.  Describe the feel of it:  Throw away your “list”.  How your future spouse looks and the money they make are superficial.  Describe how it feels, and how you both will interact, ie: “He regards my feelings and considers my opinions – even our disagreements end in laughter” or “his focus on positioning himself to honor God inspires me to grow spiritually.”

3.  Challenge yourself: Dream!  Stretch yourself beyond what you would typically imagine – because God is going to do exceedingly abundantly above all you can ask or think anyway!  (Ephesians 3:20)

Foundational Scripture for Today:  The LORD answered me: “Write down this vision; clearly inscribe it on tablets so one may easily read it.” Habakkuk 2:2
