Created to Produce

A conversation with a close friend of mine recently revealed that she felt like her life was just a rotating cycle of work-home-church, over and over again.  Even though we are created to produce, it’s pretty easy to fall into this reliable – but not very satisfying  – pattern, but if you’re finding yourself here, this is not all that God has for you!  God looked at you and determined that you are valuable, worthy and righteous.

He shaped and formed you with ultimate care, and then breathed His life into you.  He released you into the world, carefully placing you in this exact place and time, specifically and for a definite reason.  ALL of this amounts to an investment God made in you.  And, as with any investor, God wants to see His investment in you produce a great return.  You are absolutely meant to do more than just “exist in a cycle” – you are meant to grow, advance, succeed and touch lives.

God’s Investment

God’s plans are to bring you to an “expected end” – meaning that He “knows the plans He has for you!”

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

God has invested in you – with not just His Son Jesus’ life, but He’s also invested love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness faithfulness, gentleness and self-control in you.  These fruits of the Spirit are evidence of God’s investment and He wants you to develop and use these investments to further your purpose here on Earth.  We only invest in things that matter…things that are valuable, and things we want a return on.   This is how God sees you – you are valuable to Him, you matter, and He wants to see a return on all of the wonderful gifts He’s placed inside of you.

How to Be a Good Steward

Know that your choices DO play a very important role in how much your life you use for God’s glory.  You have a responsibility daily to grow in wisdom, so that you can be a good steward over the investment He’s placed in you.  Today, meditate on some of the ways that you can be a good steward over the gifts that God has invested in you:

  • You can choose to think positive thoughts“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.” Philippians 4:8
  • You can choose to be obedient to God’s instructionWisdom shouts in the street, She lifts her voice in the square; at the head of the noisy streets she cries out; At the entrance of the gates in the city she utters her sayings: “How long, O naive ones, will you love being simple-mind?” Proverbs 1:21
  • You can choose to keep God first in your life and decisions “If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve…” Joshua 24:15
  • You can treat others with the love God has placed inside you – “No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.” – 1 John 4:12
  • You can receive God’s peace – And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7

So, what is your testimony?  What is it that you did that God brought you through? What have you been created to produce? Look at your past to determine what God wants you to share with others.  God’s deliverance of you out of whatever you were in, was – in part – to allow you to showcase His awesome faithfulness!  God gave you a testimony because it is by our testimony that WE WIN.  “And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” Revelation 12:11

Your life is meant to be remarkable.  You are meant to touch people and transform lives.  Your testimony is meant to prove that God is real.  All of this can be shared by you with others in your life.  Realize God’s rich investment in your mind, body, soul and spirit today, and live  your amazing life.  Give God – and yourself- a full return on His precious investment in YOU!
