Allowing God to be in the driver’s seat

Good morning beautiful! Often times we approach life with the idea that we must do it all by ourselves. There is a difference between taking personal responsibility while allowing God to be in the driver’s seat, and believing that you are the source of your own salvation.

We all play a role in seeing the things God has placed on our hearts come into full manifestation. There’s action you will be guided to take, there’s seeking of His will and prayer, there’s a sacrifice of your old way of doing things and exchanging it for how God does things. Throughout all of this, however, God gives you the strength you need and brings you into who you must become first, so that you experience the power of the equation BE + DO = HAVE.

Be: Who you are. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind…love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37

Do: The action you take. “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2
Have: Holding the result in your hands. “No one who has left…for My sake and for the gospel will fail to receive a hundredfold in the present age.” Mark 10:29-30

Who you are, the action you take and holding the result is a process Beautiful, one that you can do over and over again the deeper and deeper you go into Christ. Today, allow Christ’s ways to override your old way of doing things. Smile, don’t take things personally. Wait, instead of responding so quickly. Pray, before you take the next step. Read and speak a scripture on courage, instead of being fearful. Accept, instead of immediately judging.

Exchange your way for God’s way and watch as He overwhelms you with grace, joy (strength as those in The Art of Mindfulness know!) and wisdom.

Foundational Scripture for Today: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…” Proverbs‬ ‭3:5‬
